How to Apply Eye Makeup
A very basic application of eye shadow, would involve either using a base coat of powder, or cream to make things easier.
Using a lighter shade of the appropriate color, sweep from the inside of the eye to the outside, covering the lid area only, down to the outside
corner of the eye. Enhance this with a single sweep of a darker shade, in the deep crease between your lid and under the brow area.

Depending on the look you want to create, you can draw attention to the eye shape, by taking the darker shade and applying
a short sweep from the inner corner out to no more than one-third of the eyelid. This leaves most of the lid with a paler color, which will act
as a highlight. For evening wear, apply a very light coat of sparkling powder to the outer third of the area under the brow.
Eyeliner is chosen according to the eye shadow color used. It is normally only applied to the outer third of the eyelid edge, as using it
straight across limits the eye size. Using it on the outer third draws the eye out and makes them larger, and more open. Similarly, eyeliner on
the bottom lid is generally not applied for more than the outer half. Use a cotton swap or brush to blend the line in, and experiment with the
width of the line to get the best effect.
Some women prefer to use only eyeliner to bring attention to the eyelash area. Mascara is optional, but can help women with
very pale lashes achieve a more complete look. A straight brush makes it easier to get at the inner corners of your eyes, but a curved one works
best on the bulk of the lid where the lashes are fullest. Coat your lashes with upwards strokes, rolling the brush as you go, and holding it
parallel to the lashes. Allow the first coat to dry, and separate with an eyelash comb, before applying a second
coat.
